I actually getting a bit obsessed with this now - I thought that when I'd done the poster I could stop thinking about it. Have done a further blog post on it

it only seems like yesterday when one of the pages i started on birmingham alive! was a user-submitted wifi map of the city centre - a project which lasted all of about six months after the place became so saturated it would be easier to map the dry spots rather than the wet spots !

Funnily enough I recently blogged about wireless network names: http://www.untyped.com/untyping/archives/2008/02/naming_your_wir.html

It seems the US takes a rather different approach to the UK when it comes to naming wireless networks!

It's possible I've been past, but without a pen and paper. Hi-tech as the iPhone might be, I still needed to write them down on the back of a back of an envelope.
