The Nightingale club off Hurst St was in a bit of bother recently with, surprise surprise, a noise complaint from a property developer. Thankfully this was thrown out by the council’s licensing sub-committee on Monday. Further details in the Post and the Stirrer.

An appeal which could have wider implications is currently being heard by Birmingham City Council. The appeal is from Crosby against the decision to decline planning permission for their (shock, horror) apartment complex right next to the Nightingale Club and DV8. If their appeal is successful, it could spell the end for nightlife down there full stop.
